Happy Holidays! This season is a time when many of us open our hearts to others and donate to important causes, asking ourselves how we can make a difference. This year, a donation to The Other Side Village will make a difference to someone leaving chronic homelessness, as all donations go toward building and furnishing the Village homes.
Give the Gift of a Home
While the mission of The Other Side Village is to provide much more than simply homes to our residents, building, furnishing, and supplying these homes is critical to our goal of creating a self-reliant, master-planned community that provides affordable, permanent housing.
Donations this holiday season will help us achieve our mission of providing residents with a safe, warm, permanent home in a supportive community. Every dollar donated will go toward furnishing one of the homes in The Other Side Village, getting all the necessary basics ready for residents as soon as they move in.
Starting as low as $25, donations cover everything the home needs when a resident moves in, from kitchen basics to an entire home’s furnishings. Sponsor an entire room and furnish it from top to bottom or pick and choose which items to donate to give a meaningful gift–these donations transform the structure of a house into the welcoming comfort of a home, covering the basics like sheets, pillows, appliances, and cookware.

There is no donation too small to make a difference. In the United States, approximately 42 million people are hungry and lack access to nutritious, affordable food. It’s no secret that hunger often precedes homelessness—people are sometimes forced to choose between paying for housing or groceries. A relatively small donation can make an enormous difference to someone who has spent years–maybe their entire life–unsure where they will get their next meal by stocking their pantry with a few basics.
A Mission to Become Self Sustaining
Our goal is to raise funds for the initial costs of building the village, while always working toward self-sustaining through our entrepreneurial endeavors. Eventually, all operational expenses will be covered through these endeavors, which will also offer employment opportunities to residents.
In the meantime, we are profoundly grateful for the support and generosity of our donors. It takes a village to raise The Village. Without you, this mission would not be possible.
What’s Coming in 2022
We are so thankful for the strides we have made in 2021 and for all of the many community members who pitched in to make the progress possible! Finding the prospective site for the Village was a huge accomplishment, and we are excited to move forward next year. We acknowledge all the work that has been done so far, knowing that there is still a lot of work ahead of us.
